Portsmouth School of Ballet emphasizes the development of strong technique through proper placement and artistry while nurturing each student’s unique talent and creativity through caring and professional instruction. Dancers are provided with the necessary resources to be their personal best and encouraged to test their skills through performance opportunities and selective competitions.

PORTSMOUTH MUSIC & ART CENTER COMMUNITY BAND
The Portsmouth Music and Arts Center's new Summer Community Band will present a free community performance this summer, July 11 at Prescott Park Arts Festival. The ensemble is multigenerational with middle school, high school, and adult musicians performing together.
Their repertoire is an eclectic mix of marches, concert works, and popular music. Pieces include Stars and Stripes Forever, music from the film La La Land, selections from Gershwin's Porgy and Bess, and concert works such as An Irish Rhapsody and Gustav Holst's First Suite for Concert Band. The band includes members from throughout the Seacoast New Hampshire region and reaching up into Maine. The band is an official education program of PMAC and open to anyone in the community.

TEEN ROCK CAMP CONCERT
The next generation of rock bands from the Portsmouth Music and Arts Center take the stage! PMAC's teen rock ensembles bring original music in their Summer Camp show at Prescott Park Arts Festival.
PMAC's Rock Band program, led by Nick Phaneuf and PMAC's Rock Faculty, provides students the opportunity to work first hand with leading musicians and educators in the seacoast.
In Teen Rock Camp, students learn how to run a band, work creatively and productively with their peers, write their own music and lyrics, and create and work towards an end goal. Open to all instruments, these ensembles provide a unique experience for all young musicians! With programs that run year round, keep your eyes open for fall and spring performances from the seacoast’s up and coming, young musicians!

CAMP OVERTURE PERFORMS AT SEUSSICAL THE MUSICAL
PMAC's music students, ages 12-18, perform with the pit orchestra for Prescott Park Art's Festival premiere show, Suessical the Musical! Funded by a generous grant from Service Credit Union, this program was FREE for all who participated. The students gained valuable experience for future orchestra pit performances.

Seacoast Civic Dance Company
This award-winning troupe is well known throughout New England for their many performances at Festivals, Fundraisers, Parades and Benefits including Yankee Homecoming, Children’s Day, First Night, Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Walk, Big Brothers, SPCA, & The Prescott Park Arts Festival. Nationally, they have toured and performed at the 75th Memorial/Commemoration at Pearl Harbor, Disney World, Sea World, Universal Studios, on cruise ships, in Las Vegas and NYC. The SCDC is comprised of 35 local youth, ages 12-18 who are enrolled in an intensive dance education program, supported by a dynamic faculty and facility. Known for their cutting-edge choreography, energetic dancers and family friendly performances, the troupe has received multiple awards, both at regional & national competitions and was recently invited to perform at the 2019 Sugar Bowl Halftime Show in New Orleans on New Year’s Day 2019.
