Our friends at Alliance for Greater Good will be at this performance with special coloring sheets all about kindness to help spread the word about their upcoming Lantern Festival to benefit Seacoast Mental Health Center.
The Alliance for Greater Good is a Portsmouth 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to rally the kindness in people to meet community needs. In June the Alliance launched a four-month Community Kindness Campaign in anticipation of their September 30th Lantern Festival, a family-friendly community event to raise funds for Seacoast Mental Health Center. The Alliance is an official program partner of the Portsmouth NH 400 Celebration, and the theme of the Lantern Festival is Illuminating 400 Years of Community Kindness. Lanterns are available for sale at Portsmouth Historical Society and online at Lantern Festival.
The Alliance is also partnering with Dondero, Little Harbour and New Franklin elementary schools, Portsmouth Middle School, Connie Bean Center’s Camp FunStuff, Portsmouth Library, Portsmouth Senior Center and Wentworth Senior Living to offer lantern decorating/kindness conversation events for over 500 children and adults. The Alliance is seeking “Kindness Champions” to purchase lanterns for these events.
