The Rain or Shine Series, a selection of concerts that will happen regardless of weather.

Langhorne Slim in 2023.

Launched in 2023, the Rain or Shine Series partnership with The Music Hall has proven to be a success in terms of saving concerts that would have otherwise been canceled, and in terms of formalizing and fostering a strong, positive relationship between two anchor arts organizations in the Seacoast. Over the past two seasons, this collaboration included the potential of 15 concert dates where TMH committed ahead of time to staying “dark” in the event of rain (6 of which ultimately were moved).

Moving an entire concert on short notice comes with its own additional financial costs, which are compounded by the capacity limitations associated with an indoor venue that don’t exist in Prescott Park. For example, The Music Hall, with its ~850 capacity, is significantly smaller than a good-sized concert crowd in Prescott Park. PPAF also maintains responsibility for staffing and production costs associated with the concert if it is moved to TMH. So, while we are always grateful to be able to have a show rather than cancel it, moving a show does not mitigate the financial loss, and in some cases, increases it.

The series continues to demonstrate the community support that exists across venues and to introduce new audiences to our Music Hall partners. We consistently hear from patrons how thankful they are that PPAF and TMH work together in this manner, and how grateful they are to still be able to see their favorite musicians, despite the bad weather.

Thanks to our friends at The Music Hall for making this partnership possible.

The 2025 Rain or Shine Series will be announced later this spring.

All shows in the Rain or Shine Series will happen regardless of weather.

Stormy Weather? We’ll announce the move and see you at The Music Hall.

Beautiful Day? We’ll see you in the park.

Season Passholders Note:

* In the event that a show must be moved to an alternate venue due to rain, entry can no longer be guaranteed, even to season passholders. All indoor venues have a limited capacity, unlike the park, and generate additional costs for the Arts Festival. While we regret ever having to limit entry, or to require the typically suggested donation, that is necessary in the case of a venue change in lieu of the outright cancellation of a show. Thank you for your understanding.
